Read this book!
I hate the idea of self help books. The idea is so 90’s so passé. But….spoiler alert I actually love them. Two weeks ago I’d never heard of Rachel Hollis or Girl stop apologizin and man was I missing out. A good friend bought me this book so I would read it first and tell her if it was worth reading or not. Well by the time I had underlined half of the book in pink highlighter and explained to my family that I was highlighting important ideas so I wouldn’t forget them, I figured I’d better just buy my friend a new copy. Oh, and my sister needs one too and of course I’ve been recommending it to anyone who will listen. I savored this book, I ate it in tiny delectable bites. Having it all?
The idea for this blog sprang from listening to an audio book by Glennon Doyle called, Untamed. I started thinking about all the things I love to do and how I could incorporate them in my already busy life. Should I go back to school and pursue a master’s degree in social work? Should I find a new job? Then I heard about Lifestyle Blogs and thought, “that’s it!”, I can explore books, travel, food, whatever I want from the comfort of my own home or on the go. As a busy single working mom, it’s hard for me to fit things into my schedule and this blog is an outlet for me to live more fully and focus on the things that bring me joy. The following quote from The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath has always awakened a sort of wistful yearning/restlessness in me: “I saw my life…
